How much closer do you think Jim Schwartz is to being fired after the debacle in Pittsburgh in general and the fake field goal in particular? He was mentioned as potentially being on the hot seat before, do you think it changes now?
At least we know he's not scared.

What is better? That the Lions make the playoffs and Schwartz gets an extension? Or the Lions fail to make the playoffs and Schwartz gets fired? We want the playoffs, but not at the risk we are forced to keep Schwartz longer. I can easily see the brass "rewarding" him if he makes the playoffs.
An ownership with stones would be able to fire Schwartz even if he makes the playoffs. This team is underachieving and if Schwartz can't get them to play at their potential, then I don't care if he gets them to the playoffs, he's not getting the job done.
Somewhat similar to Leyland. But now we don't have to worry about it.
I was willing to give Leyland a pass because I didn't think there was any amount of managing that was going to overcome a horrendous bullpen and his best player being hurt.
The problem with the Lions isn't just that they aren't getting better, it's that they're bad in the same ways over and over. No discipline. No consistency. And, if the coach is any indication, a lot of bravado in the place of smart football.
