What's the etiquette for a baseball announcer dealing with a no-hitter? I assume he shouldn't actually say "no-hitter" but can he mention pitcher X has not allowed a hit? Or do you just let the box score do the job for you?

You know...I've been wondering the same thing since it's happened 3 games in a row. The TBS and FOX guys have certainly not gone out of their way to keep it a secret. I guess the average fan isn't going to look or wait to look at the box score? If the average fan casually hears the words "no-hitter," maybe they stop to watch.

But, I'm pretty sure if you are the TV/Radio announcer and your team has a no-hitter, you keep your mouth shut. National TV/Radio guys must have a different etiquette.
