So, apparently Les Miles isn't enough of a Michigan man to actually want to coach the Wolverines. So who's nexton UM's wishlist? I can guarantee a few from Ump's list won't be the next coach at Michigan: Cowher, Pete Carroll (please, leave sunny LA for Ann Arbor?), Kirk Ferentz, Urban Meyer, and Rich Rodriguez (if he was going anywhere, he'd have left already) won't end up in the job. And didn't Jim Harbaugh have to turn in his alumni card after he said Michigan accepts players that don't meet UM standards and then steers them to easier academic programs? It seems to me there's no obvious choice for the job right now.
It's not a good weekend for Michigan and coaches as former coach Tommy Amaker and his Harvard team beat the Wolverines 62-51 last night. Ouch.
In other college sports news, Hawaii won their last game to go 12-0. They still suck.

Well of course Amaker beat Michigan. THOSE WERE ALL HIS PLAYERS HE RECRUITED THAT ARE STILL PLAYING AT MICHIGAN! He knows they suck and that his Harvard players are better. He couldn't win with his guys, but he can win with someone else's. By the way, was anyone surprised he beat his former team? Doesn't it seem all fired coaches beat their former team...esp. when that former team wasn't good to begin with?
One thing I am upset with is how pourly Michigan recruited this season. According to the experts, Michigan ranked 10th in the Big Ten in basketball recruits. 10th? Coach, you do realize there are only 11 teams in the Big Ten right? You do know that Iowa, Purdue, Northwestern, Penn State, and Minnesota all suck right? It shouldn't be too difficult to outrecruit them. It's not like they're IU, MSU, OSU, UI, or UW who annually compete for the Big 11. The least you could do is outrecruit the non-basketball schools. That's all I'm asking. Is it too much?
My list of possible UM football coaches was more of a Michigan wishlist or a dream of the coaches listed, i.e. Jim Harbaugh. I knew that story, so I knew he wouldn't be a candidate. But, you can't tell me it didn't cross his mind. Or Rich Rodriquez's. I mean he did leave West Virginia for Alabama and then changed his mind and went back to WV. Then Saban took the job and the rest is history. (Cowher was my hope.)
Hey Hawaii: If you are 12-0 and still not in the top 10, you might play a weak schedule. You have noticed that every team ahead you had 1, 2, or 3 losses, right? You have 0. Does Florida need 4 losses before you jump them in the polls? When you beat someone besides Boise State, call me.
