?

Did the national championship game feel anticlimactic to you? I only watched the first half, and it seemed to be a good game, but I didn't really care. It's hard to root for the SEC but even hard to root for Oregon and their technicolor socks. But I think the main reason was the game being played on 1/10. As much as I love college football, it feels finished after 1/1. All the games after that, even big ones, feel less significant than even the games played before Christmas. Anyone else feel this way?

I agree 100%. It makes me want a playoff even more. Because everyone that says a playoff will take away the fun, excitement, etc. of the bowls, well, dragging out 74 bowl games 37 days after the season ends is what ruins the bowls. Bud Selig things the bowls are dragged on too long.

I'm just PO'ed because I don't have cable and only one bowl game was on national television...Friday night LSU played on FOX. The National Championship isn't worthy of a game on FOX or ABC? What? All year long ABC had a Saturday night football game on primetime. One of those being Penn State v Michigan. THAT is bigger than the National Championship? You can sell more adds for a PSU/UM game than a BCS game?

Think about it. On freakin' SATURDAY, JANUARY 1 there wasn't ONE game on national television. I can't even watch the gosh-dang Rose Bowl without cable.

By the way, let's face it: The SEC rules. Five years in a row they are national champs by 4 different teams. That would be like OSU, UM, Wisconsin, and Penn State all WINNING championships in 5 years. Forget the idea of the Big Ten just COMPETING in the championship, the SEC is winning it. The Big Ten will never achieve that. But, I'll stick to being a homer and say the SEC is #1 and the Big Ten is a distanct #2.

Correction: Here are the bowls that were NOT on cable:

1. Cotton Bowl - Fox
2. Outback Bowl - ABC
3. Hyundai Sun Bowl - CBS

Great.

Another note: I haven't seen Oregon play at all. I was excited to see what they had. I heard the over-under was around 75 points. Going into the 4th quarter, it was 30. BORING. Very disappointed.

The whole thing feels like you have a meal with a few great appetizers, a salad, then the waiter tells you to come back in a week for the main course. Lame.

I was surprised at the lack of games on broadcast TV too. I can watch ESPN3 on the computer so I caught the national championship, but the broadcast choices still seemed ridiculous and I can't understand what the thinking was behind them. Are you going to entice me in to ESPN? No, you're just going to annoy me.
