ESPN
reports that the Cleveland Cavaliers have extended an offer of their head coaching job to Tom Izzo. Izzo previously said he wouldn't be interested in the NBA until he won another championship. I think it's pretty unlikely that Izzo would take the job, but the sheer horror of the idea does leave me just a little nervous.

Here's how this conversation goes:
Dan Gilbert: We'd like you to be our coach next year.
Coach Izzo: I'll sign the day after LeBron signs.
Rome Take:
"...But as tough, extracting and as demanding as he is, I’m not sure he’s an NBA guy. That’s a players league, and he’s a coach who wants to be in complete control. I don’t think he’s going to want to deal with 12 mini CEO’s who put their various agenda’s in front of his and the team’s. Furthermore, the reason you take that job is to coach a guy like LeBron James, but what’s the point if he’s not going to listen to you. And he won’t. He didn’t really care what Mike Brown thought and he won’t care what Tom Izzo thinks. That’s not an Izzo thing; that’s a King thing. LeBron would be calling all the shots and only listening to his crew. If that’s that case, you may as well make him a player-coach. I’m not saying this is an easy call for Tom Izzo, but if I’m him, I’m staying in East Lansing."
My thoughts as well. It doesn't seem that Izzo's style would mesh well with your typical NBA player, LeBron James especially.
Also, I might have to burn Cleveland to the ground if this happens. To. The. Ground. And salt the ashes.
