Read about this earlier, hadn't heard of the court decision. I think those First Amendment claims are dubious at best, but it's not like the school is going to have the money to appeal.
As for the girl feeling nervous and stressed: no sympathy here. She said she was out to make a statement. Well, she made her statement and her classmates don't like it. Maybe she can take them to court and sue for thoughtcrime.
Between this and a controversy about "freaking" I saw in the Detroit News, I think schools are going to have to dump Proms altogether. It's not going to be worth the trouble.
