When did Syracuse change their mascot to the "Orange"? That seems kind of lame. Not even something like the Fightin' Orange, the Mighty Orange, the Tangy Orange, or the Orange Terror. Just Orange. It also looks pretty silly written on the front of a white jersey.

You know, I noticed that on their jersey's yesterday too. How about, the "Orange Machine" like the "Green Machine."

Awesome. I had been kind of sad that I didn't work a fruity joke into that post.
I suspect the change was forced by some in the administration who thought "Orangemen" was sexist. Which is too bad, because "Orangettes" (I don't know if the women's teams were actually called that) sounds much cooler than Orange.
