Long version: Fredric Wertham first suggested the idea in Seduction of the Innocent and everyone familiar with comics thought it was ridiculous then. The idea has mainly persisted because of the campiness of the Adam West series. No one writes Batman and Robin as gay. The relationship is usually written as father/son or sometimes as partners. So there's nothing to it besides that it makes for some easy jokes and there's some people who would really like it to be true.

Got ya. I didn't know the history, but I didn't believe in it. Just figured some people/groups had an agenda.
