What's in a name?

Eerie
Want to hear something strange? Well, I sold some tickets on Stubhub last night. That's not strange, but the name on the shipping label made me do a double-take. What was that name? Nathan Fritz. From Michigan, but obviously not CC. Still, made for a weird moment.
While I'm thinking of it, the coolest name I've seen on a shipping label I've printed? Justice Ross, which we should put on Matt's list of names to use for a son (along with Rock).

The Name Game
Via Dirty Harry's Place, here's an article on strange celebrity baby names. The highlights:
Okay, some of these make Hyacinth sound not-so-bad. Moxie CrimeFighter? That's so crazy I almost like it. Kal-El? That might be setting the bar a little high. Honestly, I thought the cluelessness of the writer was almost as funny as some of the names. Yeah, it sure is crazy to get a name from the Bible. Whatever they might think, I'm pretty sure Max and Levi aren't really that strange. Of course, none of them have anything on Calvin Coolidge Julius Caesar Tuskahoma McLish, referenced previously here.
Rachel Griffiths' son, Banjo.
Emma Thompson's daughter, Gaia.
Arthur Ashe's daughter, Camera.
Penn Jillette's daughter, Moxie CrimeFighter.
Ving Rhames' son, Freedom, and daughter, Reignbeau.
Nic Cage's son Kal-El.
Kevin Smith's daughter Harley Quinn (from comments on article).

Hyacinth
It was announced today that a co-worker and his wife just had a baby girl and decided to name her "Hyacinth". Now, I'm all for any name that's not "Riley" or "MacKenzie", but it seems a little odd. Where did all you parents have that one on your baby name list? (When I asked that same question to my friend Eric, I received the funny reply of the day: "It was 75,276, right after [insert name of hated former Coon Rapids employee].")

Meet "Brett" and "Favre"
If I ever have a son, I think I'm going to name him "Favre", like this Florida couple. Think it will catch on? I would find it hilarious if "Favre" was a top 10 boys name in ten years.

Suggestion
Seeing as how some of you are getting around to starting families I'd assume you've spent at least some time thinking about names for your children. May I make a suggestion? Check out this guy: Calvin Coolidge Julius Caesar Tuskahoma McLish, nickname Buster. Now that's a name. Actually, it's 5 names, but who's counting? So, how about Ronald Reagan Odysseus Pedro Indiana Barrigar? No? (Hat tip: The Corner.)
