QB Results 2015
I thought it would be interesting to take a look back at the fantasy results for quarterback this year. First, the top ten quarterback taken with the round and pick noted:
1. Aaron Rodgers 2-5
2. Andrew Luck 2-8
3. Tom Brady 3-2
4. Peyton Manning 4-6
5. Russell Wilson 4-10
6. Drew Brees 5-4
7. Ben Roethlisberger 6-1
8. Matt Ryan 7-7
9. Tony Romo 7-8
10. Cam Newton 7-9
And here are the top ten quarterbacks in scoring:
1. Cam Newton 497.45
2. Tom Brady 463.60
3. Russell Wilson 444.50
4. Blake Bortles 430.40
5. Carson Palmer 425.95
6. Drew Brees 416.90
7. Eli Manning 401.90
8. Aaron Rodgers 401.45
9. Matthew Stafford 396.60
10. Kirk Cousins 393.10
I think it's fascinating that only five of the top picks ended up top ten in scoring. I guess it's better odds than picking a quarterback in the real draft though.

QB Stock Game
Today on SVP & Russillo the guys unveiled their QB Stock Game. The rules are as follows:
If you're interested feel free to play along and post your picks.
Each QB has been assigned a price based upon their record and QBR (it's QBR divided by 10 plus win differential divided by four). You get $1,000 to spend and must select one QB from every tier. QB prices will be adjusted after the first four weeks of the season. Please note that any QB who isn't listed below is a $3 IPO.The list of prices is at the link. I thought this sounded fun so I'm going to play along. My picks:
| QB | Price | Shares | $ |
| Tom Brady | 8.11 | 20 | 162.20 |
| Jay Cutler | 6.39 | 35 | 223.65 |
| Matthew Stafford | 4.75 | 98 | 465.50 |
| Robert Griffin III | 2.26 | 65 | 146.90 |
| Total | $998.25 |

Draft Day
The NFL preseason has started and fantasy draft day is soon approaching. So, does anyone have a plan as to the time and place? It might be a good idea to have an idea with all the other scheduling difficulties that come with that weekend.

Kickoff
The kickoff to the NFL regular season is still 96 days away but Yahoo has opened signup for the 2014 fantasy football season. For some inexplicable reason they've done away with the old league number and password system so check your inbox for an invite. If you don't see one let me know.

Does the fact that Brian Hoyer is potentially a viable fantasy quarterback make anyone else feel like they're living in some sort of alternate universe?

Because you demanded it.
Well, no one actually demanded it. Or even responded for that matter. But, being the Commish, I went ahead with a 2013 Cass City Monkie Fantasy Football Trophy anyway. So here it is, before paint:
Yes, that's legendary Lions QB Joey Harrington. If that doesn't make you inspired to compete I really don't know what will.

Trophy Talk
As the 2013 fantasy football season is drawing closer I found myself thinking about trophies. Which brings to mind some questions: Is the Monkie still around? Has it been passed to our current champion? Has it been lost?
The Monkie aside, I was thinking of making a non-traveling trophy for this year in honor of the tenth season of the CC Monkie fantasy football league. I'd plan on providing this myself, so it wouldn't be anything too involved. I was inspired by this trophy (posted by Poe Ghostal):
That's an old school Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figure (Leonardo to be exact) mounted to a base and painted gold. I think that would be within reach of my artistic abilities. But what sort of figure to use? A few ideas:
-That same TMNT figure. One could probably be acquired on eBay pretty easily.
-A monkey figure. I don't know of a cheap one off the top of my head, but I'm sure something exists.
-A Funko Pop figure. Some of these are bobble heads. They have a large range of figures, but nothing football specific.
-A McFarlane Sportspicks figure. One could probably be picked up cheap as long as you don't care which player it is. This is probably the best bet if you want it to look like a football trophy.
-Just about any figure would work if a certain character appealed to you.
-I suppose it wouldn't be hard to use some sort of plastic/rubber football in place of a figure.
Any thoughts? And would gold be the color to go with, or would silver be better to mimic the Lombardi Trophy?

Would anyone be interested in getting league t-shirts for the 2012 fantasy football season? The idea occurred to me after poking around TeeFury.com, which sells limited run geek-oriented t-shirts. That doesn't actually help here, it was just an inspiration. Anyway, there's another website, Custom Ink, that let's you design your own t-shirts. Here's a quick example:

Or one more:

Something like that would run about $13 (shipped) for 12 shirts. I'm sure there are other places that offer similar services, this is just the first I found and it allowed me to find a ballpark price. Anyone interested?
UPDATE: One more, with custom art:

Draft Day
Is everyone planning on having our 2011 draft next weekend? It's our traditional time, but I thought I had better check. Also, we have only 6 managers signed up so far, it would be nice to have everyone in before we draft. We can't start unless we have an even number.
Some draft links:
Fox's Draft Guide
ESPN's Draft Kit
Yahoo's Draft Kit
I'm thinking of going with ESPN's top 300 as the default list rather than Fox's top 200. Thoughts?

It's Good to Have the NFL Back
You've probably noticed that the sports-related posts around here have fallen off dramatically. That's because there just hasn't been that much interesting enough to me to be worth the effort. But now the NFL is back, so here's a quick summary of the first few days of free agency, mostly the ones with fantasy impact:
-DeAngelo Williams is staying with Carolina.
-Reggie Bush is going to Miami, and now that I've typed that sentence I have to post this:
-Kevin Kolb, displaced from Philadelphia by Michael Vick, is going to Arizona.
-Chad formerly Johnson has signed with the Patriots.
-Vince Young has signed with Philly, presumably to see if he can learn something from Vick.
-The Eagles also signed CB Nnamdi Asomugha, the best cornerback on the market.
-Brett Favre is still retired.
